That's where you'll work in this position! From its perch on the Berkeley hillside overlooking the San Francisco Bay, the SSL Missions Operations center directly operates over half a dozen NASA spacecraft that are actively conducting peaceful scientific research. We're looking for engineers to develop ground software for satellite testing, operations, and automation. This software takes a variety of forms and is typically involved with routing and monitoring telemetry, generating commands, scheduling downlinks, performing encryption / decryption, and more. * Expect to work closely with a small team of other highly-engaged engineers while enjoying a significant level of autonomy. * The work environment isn't corporate or startup; it's an independent research lab in a university setting. The engineering work is both interesting and impactful, and there is great appreciation here for engineers who love their craft. * SSL is well-funded, primarily through NASA contracts, and has been for many decades.
