Government Digital Service (UK) | REMOTE | Site Reliability Engineer We’re looking for Site Reliability Engineers to help maintain the high performance and reliability of our services. We’re looking for people with good interpersonal skills who enjoy working in a delivery focused, agile environment. You'll: - automate tasks, deployments, and tests by creating infrastructure as code, taking responsibility for the quality of code you produce - act as a digital ambassador, supporting recruitment, identifying good practices for GDS to adopt and sharing experiences, eg through blog posts, tech talks at conferences etc - possess and apply broad knowledge of core web technologies implement resilient, highly available systems - share knowledge among the GDS teams, ensuring that your team is understood by others and understanding the working of the wider organisation We're interested in people who: - have experience with UNIX-like operating systems and technologies used for web applications, e.g. Linux, databases, backups, CDNs - are familiar with web security and understand network protocols, e.g. HTTPS, TLS - understand software design principles - have familiarity with at least one programming language such as Ruby, Java, Python, Javascript, Go - experience in practices such as test driven development, continuous integration and continuous delivery To find out more, check out: https://gdscareers.tal.net/vx/mobile-0/appcentre-ext/brand-4...
