Grubwithus (YC W'11) - Venice, Los Angeles, CA - Full time (H1-B ok)
Grubwithus is built on Ruby on Rails and is looking for backend engineers to help us add new features and build a great experience for our users.
Challenges we face:
- making sure that we can provide a consistently good experience to our users
- building tools to reduce touch points between our operations team and restaurants so that we can scale using technology
- building a recommendation system to recommend meals / events to our users
- working on performance improvements to improve the speed of the web-app and reduce infrastructure costs
Requirements:
- strong experience with server-side programming (preferably in Ruby on Rails)
- example projects that demonstrate this ability
- strong background in Computer Science fundamentals
Additionally, experience with any or all of the following is a plus:
- jQuery / CSS
- building an API on a web-service
- integrating with APIs of existing social networks
- building recommendation systems
- building analytics tools to analyze data
